About Mrs. Frey

Ashley was the Valedictorian of her graduating 2022 class from Weber State University with a degree in Early Childhood. From her earliest experiences, Ashley has been involved in learning about Child Development as she is the 2nd of 10 children and helped to raise her younger siblings. Her entrepreneurial experience also came at age 18 when she earned the position of shift manager at the restaurant she was employed at. Now with her minor in Entrepreneurship, Ashley has designed her own business model canvas of ‘Small Freys Preschool’ which she is excited to open in Fall 2023! This idea was pitched at the Wildcat Seed Fund at WSU in 2019 and 2022, in which she won at both competitions.

Ashley’s drive for making a difference in the lives of children has extended from her teenage years to the 6 children she and her husband have been blessed with. Each one is also successful in their own pursuits as 2 of them have graduated from High School and are pursuing higher educational opportunities upon completion of their ecclesiastical missions.

Being of service to her community is also something that Ashley feels is a duty and obligation as she served in a children’s organization for 14 years, 4 1/2 years of which she served as the President. Not only did she ensure that the children had trained and qualified teachers, but she also conducted home visits, planned and implemented an annual summer camp, supervised the weekly activities for the boys and girls ages 7-11, and advocated for any needs these children had throughout the year.

As a teacher, Ashley has also been able to gain classroom experience through her practicum work at Weber State in Early Childhood (from 2018-2021). She then completed her internship at the Ogden School District for children grades 1-3 in conducting reading interventions. After graduating from Weber State, Ashley was then offered a partnership with the Ogden School District in opening her own ‘Small Freys Preschool’ at Shadow Valley Elementary School. Ashley has been thrilled to continue making a difference in the lives of young children through the implementation of this new program and is excited to meet your young children and help them gain a love for learning!
